Basics to Making Kombucha its as Easy as 1-2-3

Making kombucha might seem complicated, but it doesn’t need to be! From The Kombucha Company Brew Guide (also available as video on YouTube):

Preparation

1. Clean hands, jar and workspace with water and vinegar.

2. Boil 4 cups filtered water.

3. Take off heat and steep 3 tablespoons tea for 10 minutes

4. Add 1 cup sugar, stir until dissolved and let cool to room temperature.

5. Pour into cleaned jar.

6. Add 16 ounces starter tea and SCOBY.

7. Add 8 cups cool filtered water.

8. Cover with cotton cloth and secure with rubber band.

9. Place jar in a warm space, away from direct sunlight and with plenty airflow.

10. Allow to ferment for 7—21 days, depending on taste desired.
